USCIS Rolls Out Simplified System for H-1B Visa Applications
On February 28, 2024, myUSCIS introduced organizational accounts to streamline the process of collaborating on H-1B registrations and petitions for both individuals and legal representatives within organizations. To partake in the H-1B Electronic Registration Process kicking off in March 2024, users will need to set up a new account.
Key features of these accounts include:
Electronic Signing: Both company representatives and attorneys can e-sign forms, eliminating the need for physical signatures.
Immediate E-filing Receipts: E-filing allows for the receipt of petitions on the same day, a notable improvement over the delay inherent in paper filing due to mail or courier services.
Collaboration Platform: The accounts act as a collaborative space where companies and legal teams can work together on preparing and submitting forms.
USCIS has also indicated that these accounts will retain sufficient details to auto-populate G-28 forms with the company’s and legal representative’s information, further simplifying the process.
Additionally, supporting documents up to 12MB can be uploaded with each petition, and unsolicited evidence can be submitted through the portal even before a Request for Evidence is issued, allowing for a more proactive approach in the application process.
FY 2025 H-1B Cap Registration Period
The initial registration period for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 H-1B cap is set to commence at noon Eastern on March 6, 2024, and conclude at noon Eastern on March 22, 2024. Prospective petitioners, along with their representatives, are required to register beneficiaries electronically using a USCIS online account and cover the registration fee for each beneficiary.
