USCIS Extends H-1B Registration Window for FY 2025
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has extended the initial registration window for the fiscal year (FY) 2025 H-1B cap season. Originally set to open at noon Eastern on March 6, 2024, and close at noon Eastern on March 22, 2024, the registration period is now extended to conclude at noon Eastern on March 25, 2024. This extension comes in response to a temporary system failure some registrants encountered, with USCIS aiming to accommodate those affected by granting additional time.
Throughout this extension, prospective applicants and their representatives, where applicable, are required to use a USCIS online account to electronically register each candidate for the selection process and cover the registration fee for each individual. Despite the adjustment in registration deadlines, USCIS still plans to inform those selected by March 31, 2024.
On February 28, 2024, USCIS rolled out new myUSCIS organizational accounts designed to enable multiple individuals within an organization, along with their legal representatives, to work together on preparing H-1B registrations, H-1B petitions, and any related Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service. Participation in the H-1B Electronic Registration Process necessitates the creation of a new organizational account.
