The 2025 Diversity Visa Program Registration Now Open

The U.S. Department of State is now accepting online applications for the 2025 Diversity Visa lottery, starting from Wednesday, October 4, 2023, until November 7, 2023. For Fiscal Year 2025, up to 55,000 Diversity Visas (DVs) will be available for foreign citizens. 

This program offers individuals from countries with historically low U.S. immigration rates an opportunity to register for a chance to pursue a U.S. immigrant visa. The following are the countries that are not eligible for DV-2025 application:

• Bangladesh
• Brazil
• Canada
• The People’s Republic of China (including mainland and Hongkong born)
• Colombia
• Dominican Republic
• El Salvador
• Haiti
• Honduras
• India
• Jamaica
• Mexico
• Nigeria
• Pakistan
• Philippines
• Republic of Korea (South Korea)
• Venezuela
• Vietnam

This year’s Diversity Visa program open season is called “DV2025” because the individuals selected this season must apply for and receive their immigrant visa by September 30, 2025. 

The State of Department also recommends applying early during the registration period to avoid potential delays due to high demand. Only one submission per person is permitted.
